Ani sensörinöral işitme kaybı, otolojik bir acildir ve genellikle üç gün içerisinde, ardışık üç frekansta 30 dB ve üzerinde ortaya çıkan tek taraflı sağırlık şeklinde görülür. Hastalığın tedavisi için tam bir uzlaşı yoktur. Günümüzde, ana tedavi yüksek doz sistemik steroid verilmesidir. Bu tedaviye dirençli hastalarda, transtimpanik steroid enjeksiyonu, sistemik yan etkiler olmaksızın, güvenli ve etkin bir tedavi sağlar. Bu çalışmada, nadir bir klinik durum olması nedeni otolojik cerrahi sonrası gelişen, sistemik steroide yanıt vermeyen ve transtimpanik steroid enjeksiyonu ile tedavi edilen ani sensörinöral işitme kayıplı 19 yaşında bir kadın olgu sunuldu. Literatür gözden geçirilerek tedavi yönteminin etkinliği ve güvenilirliği vurgulandı.

Sudden sensorineural hearing loss is an otologic emergency and usually presents as a unilateral deafness, of 30 dB or more sensorineural hearing loss at three consecutive frequencies occurring within three days. There is no definite consensus for the treatment of the disease. Currently, the primary treatment is systemic high dose steroid administration. In the patients who are refractory to this treatment, transtympanic steroid injection offers a safe and effective therapy without systemic side effects. In this study, we report a 19-year-old female case with sudden hearing loss occurred after otologic surgery a rare clinical condition, who was refractory to systemic steroid and treated with transtympanic steroids injection. The literature was reviewed, and the effectiveness and reliability of the treatment method were emphasized.
